Job Description

Our client is an independent training provider that has been helping young people move forward with their lives for over 35 years. This is an excellent, unique opportunity for a self-motivated, target orientated individual, with a drive to support young people. Working 4 days per week, two will be spent carrying out the role of Recruitment Officer and the other two, carrying out the role of Progression Co-ordinator. You will manage your own diary to achieve targets and inspire their students! Our client will also consider candidates looking for 2 days per week, carrying out either the role of Recruitment Officer or the role of Progression Coordinator. As their Recruitment Officer / Progression Co-ordinator, you will recruit students onto training programmes ensuring the programme is appropriate for them. You will also market, advertise and “sell” students to potential employers and businesses for work experience, jobs, apprenticeships and further education opportunities. Whilst using social media to raise their profile, you will undertake activities that result in students being recruited and started in training programmes, including; marketing, outreach, contacts and local agencies, training providers and other referral sources, recruitment initiatives and attending/hosting recruitment fairs, local events, pop up shops and networking meetings. You will interview potential starts and host information sessions and ensure all students have a purposeful, individualised learning plan. Ensuring centre targets are met, you will maintain a database of referral sources and manage those relationships to gain further business. You must ensure a planned and professional approach to selling the programme and students to potential businesses and organisations, and undertake robust risk assessments, ensuring current risk assessments are in place for all live placements. So if you are highly motivated, solution focused and tenacious with a positive, bubbly and engaging personality, then they would love to hear from you. All that they ask is that you hold a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (or are willing to work towards this), are able to work to targets and deadlines and can build a rapport with a target group but also communicate professionally with referral/support agencies, employers and progression sources. They’d also like you to have excellent organisation skills, be able to persuade and influence others and deal with conflict/challenging behaviour. Competency in IT is essential, as is working knowledge of social media such as Facebook and Twitter. The welfare of their students is paramount therefore the successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check.
