Job Description

Be one of the first ten applicants Job purpose To support the country programme in the recruitment and contracting of national staff and consultants to ensure the timely delivery on programmes. This is a temporary position created due to the current large drive in recruitment. HR and Payroll Administration (40%) Draft offer letters, contracts, contract amendment letters. With support from the Resourcing Manager, draft consultancy contracts. Create and maintain up to date personnel records for Nigeria based employees in electronic form, ensuring consistency between both the HRIS and the filing system. Support the HR consultant on the coordination HR induction. Ensure consistency on the application of the Human Resources policies Prepare the payroll instructions for the Global and National Payrolls including collating relevant documentation. Undertake any other reasonable duty commensurate with the post as requested by the country office. Recruitment (60%) Review job descriptions and correct any error or inconsistencies before advertising. Advertise vacancies on MC’s website, on recruitment websites, social media and other sector specific recruitment resources such as with specialist agencies. Support advertising campaigns within budget. Long list applicants during and circulate long listings to relevant managers. Arrange tests and interviews, ensuring all relevant parties are aware of the recruitment process at all stages. Keep interviewed candidates informed of their applications status and ensure provision of feedback to unsuccessful candidates. Together with the Resourcing Manager, ensure that the Cascade recruitment module is maintained and all candidates receive timely communication. Update the vacancy list on a weekly basis and send it to the West and Central Africa Programmes Director. Maintain recruitment data like job descriptions, interview grids and tests on the Intranet in line with GDPR and recruitment policy. Request and follow the receipts of references and send it to the relevant manager for approval Support the Business Development recruitments Support with drafting and finalising of job descriptions. Personspecification Qualifications and experience: Essential: A degree in a Human Resource related field. Foundation CIPD Qualified or above or equivalent. Good proven Human Resources experience. Previous experience of using HR databases. Strong experience in a Recruitment support role; including preparation of contracts and stakeholder support. Experience of establishing strong working relationships with colleagues from different functions and cultures. Experience working with colleagues across different time zones. Experience of proactively identifying and addressing issues. Experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritising a high workload and multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines. Desirable: Intermediate CIPD Qualified or above or equivalent. Previous experience using Cascade Experience of working for an International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO). Work-based skills: Essential: Knowledge of UK employment law. Organised and meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent Microsoft Office packages - Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proven ability to organise people and tasks. Knowledge of issues in the development/ humanitarian sector. Ability to maintain confidentiality of HR information. Able to work on own initiative with limited supervision. Fluent in English with good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills - knowing the right method at the right time. Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft package. Able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks. Drive for achieving excellent results. Resourceful- Able to think outside the box.
